Do you have event fatigue? Well so do we Bunkie! Marvel has a never ending series of gang fights while DC keeps ret conning themselves into oblivion. Everyone complains about event books but Marvel and DC know fans will buy them so the cycle keeps perpetuating. Bocepheus returns as we take a journey into the black hole of event books and try to make some sense out of it all. What are good events? Events work when the story makes sense from start to finish why is a coherent storyline so hard to maintain? Marvel’s event structure works best in cross company events while DC’s event strategy works best with character centered events. Marvel does creator retreats, DC doesn’t (but did) which works better? The evolution of editorial event planning allowing creators to be part of cross over events as opposed to imposing the event on a creator’s title. The injustice of being forced to buy cross-over titles on an event book’s storyline just to keep up with what’s going on. Are the Marvel movies running into the same continuity problems as the comics as the movie universe expands? What happens once you’ve conquered the universe?
